Biters

Biters

Biters

“In this digital age of disposable razors, disposable relationships and disposable music, anything authentic seems more precious than ever. Discovering the indigo denim of an old Levi’s jacket or an arrowhead in your backyard are some of the joys untold. Biters are a rock and roll band hailing from Hatecity and upon first listen you know they are the real deal. Steeped in rock tradition, this young group blends the alchemic mixture of louder than Hendrix volume with a heaping elixir of pure brutality. If Tom Petty was assaulted by the Sex Pistols while Stiv Bator was pouring the drinks, that scene would approximate the sound of the Biters. Their music winks and nods at tradition but reveals glimmers of future. Biters will take a chunk out of your ass and heart leaving you wanting more.” -Nico Constantine

Well known for blasting out high-energy shows, they’re a throw back to the raw, in-your-face punk rock of the early ’60′s. Bigfoot

Bigfoot

Bigfoot

“Nitro laced whiskey Rawk sure to restore your faith in music and get those devil horns flying high. As a kid, I saw all the great Southern Rock legends in concert and BIGFOOT does it better than connotations of the classification implies. Lead singer, Jett Bryant is a natural full-tilt daredevil rocker time-warped from a 70s arena. Backed by mind-blowing talent, you will hear testosterone infused auditory dissoluteness. If you were to take a cheese grater to the artifice of the great shock rockers, the remaining undiluted core is BIGFOOT. It’s a back alley gut-shot of truth obtained only by dancing among devils in a thundering electric whirlwind. You don’t get there without experience. BIGFOOT has it in spades.”  - James Bickert

Genre: Southern Rock / Hard Rock
Members: Jett Bryant, Kevin Watford, Mike Faulkner, Jimmy Hall and Evil Jim Wright
Hometown: Atlanta, Georgia
Influences: Thin Lizzy, AC/DC

Cletis & His City Cousins

Cletis & His City Cousins

Cletis & His City Cousins

While classic country music is ripe for parody, exploring and celebrating the genre without being insulting is a difficult task. Obviously the City Cousins love country music, and it’s that tongue-in-cheek aspect that they manage to exemplify while honoring the tradition. The twanged-up cover of the Beatles’ “Run For Your life” is a pure joy. Musically, these guys hit it on all cylinders. Cletis sounds like a weathered roadhouse warrior, guitarist Johnny McGowan nails the chicken pickin’, and with bassist Blake Parris and drummer Mike Hammer, the backbeat is solid. A great philosopher – well, Nigel Tufnel – once said, “There’s a thin line between ‘clever’ and ‘stupid.’” Cletis and his boys toe that line with humor and talent.” – Creative Loafing

Genre: Honky Tonk
Members: Cletis Reid, Johnny McGowan, Mike Hammer and Blake Parris

The  Brimstones

The Brimstones

The Brimstones

The Brimstones have plowed through dozens of instruments and just as many dumb fads since their formation in the late nineties, leaving both smashed to pieces and strewn about a stage they have shared with such luminaries as Link Wray, The Damned and the Cramps throughout their decade long career. Hailing from jungles of New Jersey, the Brimstones regularly risk life and limb to deliver the kind of dangerous live performance worthy of their devoted, bloodthirsty cult.

Genre: Garage
Members: DEACON – Cheap Plastic Italian Organ & Jersey accent; TOMMY Q BALL – Hitting things & Books about Satanism from the 1970′s; MIKE LYNCH – Bass & an assortment of interesting hats; MONTANA – Guitar and crimes against humanity

The Penetrators (Tribute)

The Penetrators

The Penetrators

Whether by accident or design, you have stumbled into a strange little annex of pop culture — an outpost of musical and visual mayhem as exhilarating as the roar of a finely-tuned Shelby Cobra tearing off the starting line, as stirring as the sight of noon-day sun filtered through a breaking North Shore wave, and as mysterious as desire itself. Yes, you have stumbled into The World of The Penetrators: agents of The Southern Surf Syndicate on a mission to win the hearts and minds of unsuspecting civilians around the globe to that most glorious and musically pure genre of rock & roll: full-bore, reverb-drenched instrumental surf music. Wow. Pretty lofty goals for a bunch of Alabama boys with a taste for scotch whiskey and Fender guitars. Brought together through the Southern Surf Syndicate (S3 — pronounced “S-Cubed” for short), an organization of clear-headed, strong-jawed individuals who work through both covert and overt tactical means to their strategic goal of turning modern pop-culture on its head, the agents are well-trained and well-motivated. With Trace Luger on bass, Illya “Stix” Stechkin on drums (and the spirit of Rip Thrillby and Spanky Twangler riding shot-gun), The Penetrators face the world as early-sixties men trapped in a 21st Century world, but with two secret weapons: charisma and good taste.

Genre: Surf / Spy / Spaghetti Western / Instrumental

Ghost Riders Car Club

Ghost Riders Car Club

Ghost Riders Car Club

The rain finally clears on an old barren road. Your weary eyes catch a sign promising cold beer so you shake off the night’s dust that was accumulated from hotwiring this  over-heating buick and fleeing across five state lines. You don’t care you have no shoes, just wish these damn socks didn’t have holes. The godforsaken sun is executed the moment you walk through them creaky doors. Nobody remembers what type of wood built this bar. The nicotine and spilled liquor has evolved this drink hole into a new species.  The beer is declared free and the sounds of Bakersfield country replaces the oxygen in the room. The beer is damn cold and the front door has disappeared. You don’t give a damn. You were never leaving anyway.

Genre: Authentic Country Music
Members: Anyone who has ever turned a wrench on their car, played old time country – rockabilly – hillbilly music, or been a friend or fan of someone who has.
